It was just four years ago when I first arrived at Liberty University as a 17-year old, overly eager freshman. I remember the first night I stayed on campus after moving into my dorm, I just wandered around the university late into the night. With no purpose or aim, I just walked around campus, admiring what would be my home for the next four years.
Last weekend, I walked around the same campus as a college graduate, complete with a goofy square cap that doesn’t fit quite right and uncomfortable black robe that makes it really difficult to get things out of your pockets.
It was surreal hugging friends, not knowing when or if our paths will cross again. Maybe I underestimated the amount of people I had gotten to know over the past four years, but it was surprising to me just how many people I love and care about that were graduating; all of us now moving on to new adventures. I’m really excited to see where we’ll all end up!
So what does the future look like for me? A lot of my family and friends keep asking me what’s the next step. I’m not sure where the Lord will take me next, but I am excited for the doors he’s already opened
This summer, I’ll be interning at Northridge Church in Rochester, NY as a communications assistant and youth leader. Northridge Church has a heart to make “More and Better Disciples” and is actively looking to impact their community in a city that is 97% un-churched, and I'm thrilled I get to be a part of it.
Until then, I’m prepping, packing, and praying that the Lord will use these opportunities to both stretch the intern team and me, but also to encourage the community of Northridge Church
Be sure to check out them out online - they have some great resources!
Here’s to looking forward to what’s next.
